This home and kitchen oozes warmth and a beautiful sense of home, the modern almost tropical aesthetic was a client desire with a large emphasis on natural greenery. The narrow width of the site meant that maximising outlooks to enhance the sense of space of the home as well as maximising the functionality and storage for a young family. The end result feeling much more expansive than what may originally be perceived.
The kitchen sits in the heart of this home and the room lines are blurred between kitchen, dining, living and transition spaces.
There is an emphasis on incorporating nature into the design which extends through to the use of materials with warm tones and natural effect stones. The palette of the kitchen is warm and moody yet refined and is reflected in the materiality of the entire home.
The wall of cabinetry is entirely integrated with a warm colour tone designed to match the window frames.Integrated and hidden is a fridge and freezer with slimline custom designed full-length handles, next to this is a pantry/small appliance nook with pocket doors for easy access. The internal cabinetry in this area is finished as it would be if it was on show as these doors sit open for a period of time. On the right hand side a bi-folding and pocket door system exposes a scullery style cupboard with sink and storage. In between these integrated areas is a deep bench-top with a window splash-back designed to have minimal framing hidden by cabinetry and stone. Behind the seamless induction cooktop are two integrated Canale Preparation Islands which can be used to grow herbs, store utensils or display items This system drains to the outside and is supported with grow lights. The window frames beautiful greenery from a small courtyard and brings with it gorgeous natural light. The open shelf features a warm timber grain which is reflected in surrounding cabinetry.
Sitting in front of this cabinetry wall isa 4.8m long island bench of Caesarstone Statuario Maximus water-falling down both ends. Within this lacquered island cabinetry are two Siemens ovens and warming drawer, fully integrated dishwasher, fully integrated bin system and a state of the art Zip Hydrotap with boiling and sparkling water. Underneath the island are black mirrored glass panels.
Above this stunning bench sits a custom designed and powder coated pendant light that is subtle in form, and hosts an LED strip-light.
