Design and Build: GIA Bathroom & Kitchen Renovations
Location: Brighton East
Duration: 12 Weeks
Scope: Complete Home Renovation – Kitchen, Bathroom, Ensuite, Powder Room, Laundry, TimberFlooring, Painting, Windows & Fireplace.
Brief: After a decade spent living in their home the homeowners decided it was time to take on a major renovation and update their dated bayside home, so it could better accommodate their lifestyle with three teenage children and inject their own personal taste. The ground floor consisted of an unused front entrance room, large open plan living, dining & kitchen area and powder & laundry room. The brief encouraged that the ground floor was slightly reconfigured. This meant the front room was converted into a private living room for the parents whilst the open plan area was sectioned off to accommodate a functional study and casual lounge area for the teenage children. The study area was divided with feature timber slats to create a semi-private, yet light filled room that was visible from the kitchen area. The kitchen became the hub of the home with greatly improved preparation areas and zones to accommodate multiple people in the kitchen at once. The powder room and laundry were updated to flow with the new interior styling. The first floor ensuite was updated with bright fresh colours whilst the bathroom was reconfigured to accommodate a stunning freestanding bath, walk in shower and plentiful storage for the three teenage boys. Visually the interior incorporated a beautiful balance of natural timbers, bright whites, muted greys contrasting with bold colours and subtle textures.
